Our First Major Update is slated to be all about D-Block

How can we make it fun?
How can we make it thrilling?
How can we make it the best D-Block experience out of every server?

We would love to know your ideas and opinions!

Please note: When we say "Fun", "Thrilling", and "Best Experience", we don't just mean for D-Class. We mean, for everyone. We want D-Block to be FUN, not Annoying. Additionally, we want EVERYONE to want to go to D-Block when they are bored, both D-Class and Foundation Personnel.

So, our question is simply, how would you make D-Block Fun for EVERYONE? What differences would you make?

You can suggest any changes, however, map changes will not be taken as we aren't currently able to make a difference there.

You can think of anything, however, please note that we will not be implementing, nor acknowledging any of the suggestions. We will skim through all the replies and attempt to implement them the way we feel are best for everyone involved.

The area before you ender D-Block should be widened up, its too small
 
Have 2 pathways or lines for D-Class to take, one of them being medical and one of them being testing.
 
Add more props and maybe do make a Medical & Testing line. It's more organized and I just see a bunch of d-class running around the site without an escort or just going against the line.
 
Crafting changes:
-Remove the combined materials and go to enhanced: These all do nothing but slow down the process of crafting. This will only confuse and make new players angry. I feel these add nothing but an overall nerf to D-Class gear which is already middling for the time needed to make it.
-Make a separate area to gather wood like the forestry garden in the back of D-Block: This will make making stuff far less tedious for the D-Class and allow for more crafting recipes as they wont rely on luck.
-Primitive shield: This would be a craft able shield made with quality iron and quality wood: this would protect a smaller section of the body than the deployable shield but cant be put down.
-The "crossbow"; this would be made from (Quartz + Quality wood) + Power Source . it would do 75 damage on hit but would have perfect accuracy in exchange for a slow reload time.
-Add a second lootable trashcan: The only one gets crowded
Trading Changes:
-Allow multiple items to be traded at once: This will make trading easier and smoother
-Allow money amounts to be traded: This will give D-block more of an economy
-Give a vendor to sell raw goods for money like gold and such
MISC Changes:
-Money mini-game: What if D-Class could go around foundation and do various chores like repair people's armor or doors like site engineer's could in V8 for money.
-Get rid of the outer D-Block: It makes things more crowded and is just an extra 2 chokepoints that make it so getting to D-Class is a death trap and getting away is an odyessy.
 
Have a little area with testing and medical lines, where D-Class and GENSEC aren't separated by any walls or windows. It would encourage more interaction and RP. Kind of like the old D-Block. It would also keep GENSEC on their toes a little bit instead of being lazy and make riots more fun. Also what Crash said, being able to use bombs to break into Armory would be cool. What made D-Block fun in the old server was the open D-Block with encouraged interaction, weapons weren't to difficult to get, and riot reasons helped with GENSEC not getting shot in the back of the head every 5 minutes.

A problem with D-Block in every SCPRP server is that D-Class and GENSEC are always isolated from each other, only really interacting when they shoot each other.

(When I say GENSEC I mean IST too)

Can we also make the crafting a little less convoluted? Make mining a little faster, and a node that gives wood instead of pure RNG in the garbage.

Add a schedule system. Throughout different times of the day, similar to real life prisons, D-Block will go through various activities that will be hosted by Wardens. Such as;

Rollcall
Eating time
Recreation/Freetime
Work time
Sleep
etc.

This could be merged with the schedule suggestion too, as wardens were able to host boxing matches
 
D-BLOCK:
- Create or Change the vent to randomly teleport you somewhere in the site, percentages looking something like: [LCZ:50%], [HCZ:25%], [EZ:1%] [RANDOM_BRANCH_BUNK:20%] [SCP_CELL:4%].
- Perhaps allow certain SCPs to enter D-Block in an enraged state, creates more incentive to protect D-Block and allow more interactions between SCPs and D-Class.
- Places mroe armories throughout the site, each armory giving more equipment as a reward (D-Block weak armory, LCZ decent armory, HCZ good armory, EZ goated armory.)
 
Add a craftable crowbar (or something like that), that while being a melee weapon, can be used to for example, pry open the d-block door after a period of time.
 
More SCP Testing, researchers need to be grabbing more dclass for testing scps, very basic thing that seems to be neglected currently.
Add a "fist swep" to the dclass chad.
remove the purchase cooldown for dclass on the back of dblock shop. add more weapons/items to the plug dealer (keycards, snipers, etc)
make the vents in only destroyable by weapons and not just by touch.
add chess/checkers
add more trash nodes and more mining nodes
reduce crafting cost for bombs
 
There are a few ways we can make D-Class less about rioting and escaping and more rp encouraged. Below are a list of things that should be changed to make D-Class have better quality of life while also giving them opportunities to naturally be passive without playing a guessing game.

Remove D-Class Dealer: Before you say anything hear me out. Every time I see a D-Class dealer on while I play I already know its gonna be constant riots. In the grand scheme of things since all ar's deal the same damage he serves no purpose other then a cheaper rifle. Instead the guns available to D-Class should be bought exclusively from the ai dealer. Perhaps adding an SMG at 750 would also help

Making crafting a more core component of game play: What dose this exactly mean? Well in order to riot you should require crafting instead of buying guns straight from the ai dealer. Perhaps new crafting recopies involving making weapon parts should be a method of making guns, but also making it so that in order to fully craft a gun you must buy a receiver part from the dealer. For example say you would need to make a gun barrel and a stock. You can now take those finished parts and buy the specific weapon receiver from the dealer. We can also make the part itself cheaper. So you have the gun pats item and you combine that with sa an AK receiver making an AK.

D-Class Low Risk Inmates: This is the big one and what I feel would be great for allowing D-Class to ba able to be passive without needing to wait for GENSEC to grab them etc. Low Risk Inmates or Trustees would be labeled with a separate black uniform which I will list at the end. The Medical D-Class and the D-Class Cook would automatically receive low risk inmate status with the Medic spawning in the D-Class Medic area, and the Cook in the D-Class cooking area. A new job named D-Class Worker would be added as the main Low Risk Inmate Job which would be handed out by GENSEC to trusted D-Class. All Low risk D-Class would be able to roam LCZ at will, but they may not attempt to escape. This dose not mean they are Foundation Sided, but more or less act as a neutral party.

Make Melee weapons the only Buy able Weapon: Simply put it you can walk up to the AI dealer and purchases the Knife for like 150 or 250.

Make it required to use a Keycard to exit D-Block: This is mainly there to prevent people from breaking NLR or rioting without a reason. Vents cannot be spammed.

Make crafting cheaper: Only thing with this is that the amount of tiers for each mine able item should be reduced by one.

You need to include D-Class in more things, make them needed besides test like let them roam around as a cleaner or an intern somewhere, like as an actual job, for example a Technician's assistant, and instead of feeding us to SCPs, make us do actual roleplay like how in the SCP games you need to clean Peanuts Cage, stuff like that! And when ever things are going on, try to include them! Like for example today when the event was going on, D-Class was left in D-Block alone and no one interacted with them for almost an hour, and whenever someone would come and we would try to RP with them, they would just leave, then when they finally entered the area, I was in the kitchen trying to start a roleplay scenario with them, and they just cuffed me and shoved me back into D-Block, and whenever I would talk, they would just stay silent and wouldn't respond, then when you guys finally needed us for the event, when the D-Class asked questions or talked, they moved us away from the event and cuffed us to the wall. It was not a fun experience and the D-Class will start being rowdy and minge cause they are bored, we need things to do, we are players as well.
