What is the coding option for?

If you click on the 3 dots on the right side of the toolbar, you can see an option that says code. In this it allows you to "Code" in any language you want. When I did this it just places the code into post as text.

The question:

Does anyone know if this code feature is supposed to actually work like code or is it a disabled feature that just puts it as text?

All it does is display it within the set formatted syntax (y'know like colors and stuff) to display the code. It doesnt actually make code work because that would pretty much be a security breach (although I wish I could so that I could make a better DCB)
